    Don’t really agree with you here I’m afraid. Personally I would prefer England to lose (yes even if it was in the final) than to have won by such means. I would be embarrassed and the victory would be cheapened. Having said that, I do agree that the main culprits in this are Fifa for not fully addressing the issue. If players know that there will be no real consequences for their actions then temptation will invariably win the day over moral conduct. A years retrospective ban from international sport would give some food for thought.
