A column in yesterday’s Varsity newspaper implied that very little was cut – it’s perhaps simply the case that the editorial team decided to play everything safe, and only pick on targets who couldn’t respond/object – such as the poor and homeless, which were the butt of many jokes (as pointed out by an indignant letter from a student).

I actually have no idea whether it was cut by the censors, or whether it was a straightforward editorial cut. Seeing as the editorial team are students, they haven’t yet developed basic courtesies such as informing columnists about the fate of their efforts…

Wow, that got cut? The censors were indeed busy. I’m thinking of writing something on this subject for a Christian publisher, if I have any time this year.
