While it’s unclear whether the concept of ‘hate speech’ even merits legal prohibition, one thing does seem clear: Personal insults against journalists (or anyone else) seem unlikely contenders to be regarded as hate speech. Also, does the Equality Court definition of what counts as hate speech accord with the definition found in the Bill of Rights?
